I finally got around to trying to photograph one of the production Spandau guns assembled. Unfortunately my lighting is not too good, so I'll have to try again in direct sunlight to get better photos, but here is a look at what the production kits build. The main thing to note is the more open cooling jacket. Everything else is the same as the prototypes shown in the photos on our website.

Hi Allan,
I probably missed this but how many per package? I know it makes sense that there would be two but I need to order enough!

Since I 'blagged' all the first batch of 1/12 ones, let me just confirm that they are indeed very nice.
They arrived yesterday, thanks Allan. 1/12, 1/10 and 1/8 sizes all arrived safely. As you say, they are an improvement on the pre-production versions, and they were great. The butchered one on my EIII has generated a lot of interest.

Gravity, there is one gun kit per package, since people building Fokker E-IIIs, Pfalz E-IVs, Halberstadt D-IIs, etc. only need one and I didn't want people to have to pay for more than they need. Shipping on additional guns in the same order is only $0.25 each extra kit.

Peter, I'm glad you like the final version. I think the production guns have much more of a 'scale' look. Hopefully they'll make interesting fodder for your Flying Scale Models column :D After my honeymoon I'll get on to making the Vickers and Lewis guns. Maybe if I get really excited I'll consider a Parabellum, but only if I see a kit out there that needs it (hint, work on a Roland C-II Peter)

I now have the rest of the 1/12 scale kits done and they're available from my website. Peter, the balance of your order will go out this week.

Thanks Gravity, I'll get them shipped tomorrow (pack them up tonight, bring to PO tomorrow).

As far as allied guns. Plans are for Lewis and Vickers guns soon, but I'm getting married in 9 days, so allied guns will be delayed a bit :-)

Married!

OMG! Hurry and do the Lewis and Vickers quick! LOL ;)

Seriously, congratulations!

I have a bunch of relation back in that part of the country, haven't been back in while though.

If you need to, state that the guys on the forum allready have a list of things for you to do. We'll back you up.:p

Things like Parabellums, LeRhones, and the like!

Thanks Allen,

Ray

It's actually not a problem. My future wife is the website webmaster. She totally approves in me making new products. My hobby income defrays my hobby expenses :-)

Well thanks to overwhelming response, I'm temporarilly sold out of 1/10 scale Spandau kits. I still have plenty of 1/8 and 1/12 scale kits. I'm in the process of making another run of 1/10 kits so I hope to be back in stock soon.

Thank you to everyone who ordered!
Allan
