After securing a steady and reliable source for 2mm coroplast, I set out to build a Dazi (http://www.zip.com.au/~dazb/dAzi/dAzi.html) flying wing.
I decided from the start that I would power it with a speed 400 motor. This being my first electric I was unsure of my choice of motors and was relying on the performance of a Zagi as a barometer as to the performance I might expect. The all up ready to fly weight is 1lb 7oz about 3oz heavier than an fma razor. I went to New Creations-Rc (http://www.newcreations-rc.com)with my flying buddy and took the dazi along to get some advice.

These guys specialize in everything electric for rc AIRPLANES. Kirk (the owner) looked at the plane and estimated that it might be a bit sluggish based on it being heavier with only a 6v speed 400 and a 7 cell 600 mah battery. None the less he offered to check out my battery to make sure it was peaked and we went out behind the store to fly it. Kirk even gave it the first throw for me so I could keep both hands on the sticks. Good thing too. Once I advanced the throttle the dazi climbed with authority and accelerated nicely in level flight. I still need to lower the rates on my controls because it is a bit twitchy. This plane is fast. Kirk commented that it is probably faster than a stock zagi. I am new to this power stuff , being a primarily glider guider, but this was a blast. I was giggling like a little school girl for 20 minutes after that flight.

Just thought I would share a great experience and a great day. This was the kind of day that made me get into this hobby in the first place and keeps me here much to my Wifes chagrin.
