Judging from the video, looks like he pedaled the first few feet, to get to about 15 mph, then the jet motor kept him there. I'd say about 15-20mph, max on level ground. I had a decent dial-up connect, but had about 3-5 second shots at watching it between rebuffering.
Neat concept, I tried to build a ramjet onto my bicycle as a kid, gasoline powered - it just started a nice fire inside the tube I made, Good thing I didn't blow myself up. The bike didn't fare so well (melted back tire):(
I wish I had a turbine jet back then:p
