Help.
I need to get this plane put together. It's been over a year.
One thing thats helps push it to the back of the building line-up is no english instructions.

Can anybody help

when I did mine, I took the sheet that showed the pictures of the battery tray, and wrote the number of the piece that looked close enough on the sheet, then thru trial and error, assembled the tray, however the front supports are in backwards, still works :)

Really though, on this airplane, just go by what feels right to you, really up to you.

I have looked over the plans and could have gone that route.
I would like to have it come out a little better than how I normally put things together.

Any help.

Larry, does the Donald 4 normally come with no English instructions, or are you just missing them? If the latter is the case then I'm assuming you've contacted Hobby Lobby, or even ZB at Esprit might be able to help as he once carried the Donald 4 (he sells the 5 now). Perhaps someone might even be able to translate the more critical sections you need if you can post the text here? -thumbs

Donald 5 = Donald 4, same exact airplane, just different name to avoid conflict between the 2 sources.
Not much to do on the kit, assemble the floats from the abs parts, make your own motor mount, my wings stay on by friction, I dont have anything holding the wings on against their will. The pushrods I threw out, used bigger sullivan ones, used GOOD stuff low expanision foam for flotation, and to lock in the pushrods from flexing, also filled the vertical stab with the foam to strengthen it and hold in place the flex cable.

Piece of wood that goes in tail, sand that to countour, epoxy it in.

Used tape to hold cowl on. Used cad to design motor mount out of ply.
Accidently attached the rudder upside down, doesnt matter.
Really, you just tackle the kit your way, do things your way, there is 1000 different ways to do this.

BillH, I've been thinking of using "Good Stuff" for some applications. Seems like it would possibly attack other foams, and perhaps plastics as well. I like the flexing pushrod fix. How else have you used it? Thanks, -thumbs

I strategically sprayed it around the hull for flotation, the Flex tube fix was an after thought, so was strengthening the tail.

The can of foam has a problem where once you start to use, You gotta use all of it, or let it go to waste, so work accordingly.

THats the only application I used it for. It made the sides of my fuse bulge out just a tiny bit, its low expansion, but it sure does expand. For my donald 4, it proved to be silver bullet.
