Hi all,

Two friends and I are building three Bellanca Decathlons (3.38m)

Today, the question on what type of covering to use came up.

- Film like Oracover
or
- Oratex - woven type film.

Advantages of oracover :
Lots of colours available, easy to repair, but resonates more.

Oratex resonates a lot less, but has to be painted (airbrushed) to make it look good. This makes repairs a lot more difficult.

Are there any other types of film that don't resonate as much as oracover?

Any hints/tips/ideas??

Hans

(P.S. - powerplant will probably be a 120cc ZDZ boxer)

Hans, you need to add to the advantages of Oratex:
1- Stronger; 2- more puncture resistant; 3- easier to apply around complex curves; 4- scale appearance.
I would go with the Oratex for the simple reason that the full scale Decathlons are fabric covered.

Good point. Well, still a lot of building to do, so some time to decide ;)
