With the nacelles riding so low I will probably use some sort of screening to block debris. I have been trying to find a way to give the engine that authentic look of the large starter cone, like the electric versions. I have made 1 fiberglass cones with little handle molded in. This cone, to look the part covers the frontal area of the turbine possibly slowing the incoming air, and I will have to make a velocity stack type intake similar to whats on them just larger and longer, to redirect the air back to the turbines intake, possibly speeding the air up to much in flight.

Any thoughts?

I am attempting to form the screening into a cone shape at the center a spay it black or gray. If this comes out OK I may just go with it.
Thank you Morris

Joe,

Yes, planning to add the hatches, just need to work with the CG to see were the turbines will sit before I cut. Need to finish the fuel tanks trying to mold them fit almost exactly. I made the tail pipes, double walled stainless three rings to separate the two, I've tried two diff ways. Solid tail pipes and one with outer pipe perforated (holes). I need to get more turbine oil and make a smaller test stand the see if one is better than the other. Call you later 8pm MO time

Just make up some leedle pull start gas motors, baby bees or something, just like the full scale!

Keep us posted on this, you'll have the best AW 262 out there. When I first saw the kit, the distributor explained it was for turbines that were not yet built...well, now, here we are!

Well, I burned up the first set of thrust/exhaust tubes. The stainless may have been a little to thin. I have now reworked them with thicker stainless on the inner tube, and working on thin layer of ceramic cloth thin the same thin stainless for the outer. they were not in the plane at the time, thank goodness for taking time to make a test stand.
