Hey guys,
I've got to glue some odd tires into some composite rims , and I
wanted an opinion of what I should use .
The rims & tires are the Robbe 'Panther' set that instead of having a
positioning 'bead' around the perimeter , like Tamiya and most others
have , it has a side-wall one . The tire edges slip into grooves in
the face and backside of the rim , with no CA-flow holes ( like Tamiya
& others have ) and trying to bore those for the bead-holes like
Tamiyas would be next to impossible .
The only solution is to use a not-so-fast set glue into the groove ,
and then pop the tire in place , or , like with those tire glue-aid
tools , run a beat at the outer edge with the bead in place ( I'm
afraid of a CA mess )
I don't want to buy a bottle of slow-set CA just for this set of tires
, so what alternate glues could I use for strong adhesion , but with a
bond I can break easily if I ~have~ to ?
