I have been flying the Switchback Sport in FMS for practice and have a hard time keeping track of top and bottom of the plane. I was wondering if I could change colors on the plane to give me a better idea of what to use on the real model.

Hi E-Minn, the Switchback was made with Metasequoia following the instructions on Shinichiro San's Website (http://kimagure-hikoki.hp.infoseek.co.jp/index_e.html) they also include instructions for changing the colors.

Metasequoia is a shareware program available here:
http://www21.ocn.ne.jp/%7Emizno/main_e.html

An easy way to do it and I'm not sure how it would turn out, is to change the colors in the .bmp file with any paint or graphics program.

Let us know how it turns out.

edited to add:

There are two more Switchbacks available (in addition to the Sport & 3D) in the Switchback pack.zip file from Trevor at: www.freewebs.com/fmsusers/downloadsplane.htm
One is the same 3D with an extreme .par file and the other is a SB3D bare bones, or clear covering. Should be better if you want to do a transparent color scheme.

This question might better be answered on the Simulators forum and I'll move it, but let me also point you to this excellent article on how design a plane's covering/ coloring scheme for maximum visibility:

Huh, where are we now?? :p Simulators Forum?

...

I didn't even know there was a simulators forum. ;) Guess I'll have to add that to my list of forums to check.

Thanks Tres,

Wayne
