Hi guys,
Is there such a beast???
I fly a Pike WR extreme, but would like to acquire a similar (moulded, 6 servo etc) F3J glider that would extract the most potential from thermals, as well as being able to dive from hight and be able to aerobat and slope?
All my flying is done from the slope, but prefer lighter days, stooging around hunting for any heat bubbles.
Any ideas...Eraser, Corracho????
Cheers,
Terry

Any self respecting F3J model with low dihedral should do. Low dihedral will limit yaw to roll coupling and result in more axial rolls. They are strong enough to pull 35 or 40 G's on launch. The main draw back will be a roll rate that is limited by the high aspect ratio. Pick the model with the biggest ailerons and couple them to the flaps.

Light wing loading isn't essential if you can camber the whole trailing edge of the wing in light lift conditions with transmitter mixes. Have you got your Pike set up with trailing edge camber control ( 3 to 5 degrees of droop) across the whole span?

Cheers Ollies,
I have the ailerons going down about 1mm, and the flaps about 10mm. I was just after something a bit lighter, this is double carbon, tough, but it won't go up in a fart!
Terry.
