I noticed on the nsp site sal has several open gliders with 6 servo's in the wing,is there any advantage to this configuration?? One aircraft is the fusion, anyone comment on this model? Lee

Six servo wings have an advantage on launch, when searching for lift, when penetrating into the wind and in the landing pattern. That is because the entire trailing edge of the wing can be angled to provide the camber that is appropriate to the flight mode. At least a seven channel programable transmitter is necessary to take full advantage of the six servo wing's potential.

The down side is that it is expensive, complicated and it takes a lot more pilot work load to use it effectively.

Daryl Perkins said that the only real reason for 6 servos on the Fusion wing was to reduce the aileron upward flex from winching airloads. Seems like a band-aid to me. I would take the extra weight of the two tip servos+wiring and put it into a stiffer aileron servo and linkage setup. I really don't see a worthwhile aero advantage of a 6-servo wing compared to a well set up 4-servo wing.
