So is the wing removable on the ARF?? can't remove the wing on the built up kit. Which engine did you say you were going to put in it??

t_predator90
Aug 21, 2003, 10:19 AM
No, the wing is stuck on. But that's agood thing! No more rubber bands!!!:D

I didn't, but I'm going to put on it an O.S .46 FX with 11x7 prop. Totally over-powering!:D

You'll be more pt to hoover if you use a 12.25 X 3.75 prop, That's what I'm usinging and it does way better, at least for hoovering..

t_predator90
Aug 21, 2003, 10:31 AM
I'm using the 11x7 for the first few flights. I want to keep it all standard untill I'm used to the plane.... But yes, I was thinking of buying a bigger prop after 2-3 weeks

Forgot to post these:
This was from thursday:

Since then i've done the rudder, elevator, engine, electronics, servo connections, and now I'm finishing it off with the landing gear!:D
This is when I put the elevator control horn on:

Sure. I'm going to do the maiden today, so I'll also take some pics while I'm there, and post them later

Now that I think of it, I'll have to change my avatar now!:D

Just come back from the maiden, and it was A-W-E-S-O-M!!!!!! Took off with under half throttle! A complete roll is done in under a quarter second.... Loops are so tight, it almost touches it's tail on the way down.... And the landings are surprisingly stable:D! I did four 3-point landings!;) It's a great plane, now I just have to get used to it... It's my first plane after the trainer... And it can do fly-bys at quarter throttle faster then my trainer did at full throttle!:D:D:D Unfortunatly, the sun was almost down, so it was a bit difficult to see what I was doing, so I had to stay close and slow.... But still, it was great!!! I can't wait untill friday, when I will have a good few flights (I just did 2 today...)!:D

Getting set-up:

Very good. Glad you liked it. Sounds like you had a blast. I can see we have a new future 3D Pilot here. :D
You will get better each time you practice. You will love it more and more. Soon you will be hovering on the deck. So when is the Morris the Knife due ? ;)
Hey, your Sister seems interested in the planes. Teach her how to fly. There are not many girls flying RC out there.
BTW, I have the same tool box as you :D

Yea, it was a blast! I can't wait to have a whole DAY to fly!!!!!:D:D:D Morris the knife will be when I crash the Dazzler beyond repair....
My sister has just started getting interested in r/c e-cars, so I'm hoping that I can help her make the step to planes..... But that will be in the far future (she's 8 now, so about 4-5 years....).

You have that box? Me and up&away built that box from scratch!;)

You mean after you've re-attached the muffler (properly this time) and put on the deflector...;)

Just came home after a good flying day with my dazzler.... It was a BLAST!!!!!!!!!!! It's such a massive change from the Superstar trainer! It does EXACTLY what you tell it to do, and mostly at half throttle!!!:D I think i'm going to like this plane.......;)

Mufflers coming off suck...The muffler on my trainer (.40 engine) came off in flight. It started yawing(?) to the left, due to the exhaust coming straight out. It also made a lot more noise :D and flew a little faster. But when I looped, the engine quit. Stupid back pressure less fuel tank.

So I deadsticked it to about 5 feet, go to pick it up and YOW!! all the exhaust was on the outer tip(yeah, it flew that far) and it was HOT! It burned!

So I looked for the muffler in the corn field(glad it was corn and not soy beans) I see it after about 5 minutes of looking. Its next to a stalk and the stalk was smoking (it was funny) So I'm lookngi around, trying to think of a way to pick it up with out burning my self AGAIN, and then I remmebered the paper towels I had in my pocket.

Got it reinstalled, and everything was a ok for another flight.

Congratulations on your Dazzler!! Can't wait to see some hover pics!! I always liked that plane, but I'd rather get in kit form than ARF, I am NOT partial to that covering scheme.
