Hi all
looking for some advise on compatibility between different makes of radio
gear.
Should any make of Transmitter work with any make of receiver.
I used to do a lot of model flying and never had any problem cross matching
between Futaba, Sanwa and HiTec, I was even able to use a Futaba Module in
the back of my Hitec Transmitter without any problems.
I have now moved into cars and so far have two, one with a Hitec receiver
and the other with a Futaba, both are 40mhz FM as is my trany and I have
verified that the correct crystal is fitted, but I cannot get a peep out of
the Futaba.
Should it work with the Hitec trany or is my Futaba receiver dead.
Thanks for any advice.

Yeah sounds like the Rx has a problem. Futaba and Hitec should be
compatible (negative shift) just like Airtronics and JR work together
(positive shift). If youre sure youre using the correct xtals and sure the
Tx is working then send in the Rx and see what they say. Cant hurt and who
knows ? Maybe theyll surprise you.

I only know some guys running Hitec (Lynx 3D to be exact) and I _think_
they didn't get Futaba 40MHz FM receiver to work with Hitec, I'm not
sure what crystal combinations they tried. One of those guys is now
actually using Futaba module in 3D, Futaba Rx and Futaba crystals, this
combo works.
Note that Hitec has both dual conversion and single conversion Rx's
available, crystals for them are different. Most other brand Rx's are
single conversion. Still, the crystal for Hitec single conversion Rx can
be different from Futaba's. Do you have a Futaba crystal in Futaba Rx?

Hard to tell:) I don't know anyone who got it to work, but not many have
tried. Those who did, probably didn't try all available crystal combos.
I'd think that if it ever will work, you'll need Futaba crystal in Rx, I
don't know which crystal you need for the module.

Hi,
I have a question about Megatech radios.
Are Megatech transmitter (specifically for Horsefly) compatible with any other standard transmitter: Futaba, JR, Spektrum, Hitec, etc. via Buddy port or directly just replacing the transmitter (keeping the same receiver on the helicopter)?
Thanks,
Ashutosh
