Wouldn't you like to have been aboard for the landing?:D But that DOES look like a good spot for one or our planes, EH? Just have to watch out for the fountain in the middle.

I always thought those ultralight guys were wacky, now have photographic proof to prove my theory!

Fredrik:

Frame #5 is a good example showing the Angle of Attack (positive) between the chord line of the wing (leading edge to trailing edge) and the top of the floats.

That is, to take off, the wing has to be tilted upwards while the floats are running across the water parallel to the water.

Ironsides!

Just what I was about to say..! The angle of attack is very impoprtand. Specielly on planes with moderate power. It's actuelly much more important that the shape of the bottow, where the step is etc. See some pictures+video of my very small Chubby Baby here! (http://www.mft.nu/styro/chubbybaby.htm)

I see way too many examples of model airplanes with floats mounted with positive AoA. That CAN work if you have plenty of power, but it just doesn't look right.

Where did you find that plane, Fredrik..!? Doesn't look like Stockholm...

I think its a Swedish thing. Their winters are so long they have to cram as fun as possible into the summers.

Yes, the summer is short, it is already over. The last week have been around 53 F, windy and lots of rain. :(
