Nice to see this forum percolating along so well!

I've been flying a 70% Nifty 50, (3 ch., 35" span, 250 sq. in, Sp400 6V, 1.85:1 ratio, 8 X 6 APC-E, 7 X 500ARs, 17 oz.) for a couple of years and have always been impressed with how spunky the performance was. I tried a set of home built floats, (62g total less the two wheels that were removed) for a total AUW of 19 oz.

It, (and I), first flew off water last month at Rob Pike's cottage. It was in the air as fast as with wheels and seemed to lose very little in performance. The step is at the CG and they are rigged parrallel to the thrust line. The wing has about 3 degrees positive and the stab a little less. I'll take some photos and post them sometime this week.

Cheers,

Martin
