My mate has this Wot4 with modified tail feathers. It's built a little heavy.

I was test flying it for him and noticed that during any extended rolling manouver like rolling across the field or rolling circle, if the nose has any excessive pitch deviation from the horizontal, occasionaly the plane will snap round with a fast roll.

Usually this is just a very increased rate of roll but one time it rolled round at a increased speed then snapped round another full 360 degrees all by itself. I don't belive the CG is too far back.

Is there anything obvioius that might cause this?

Sounds like a stall. If the model is heavy and you are pulling hard on the controls, a snap can occur which usually takes the form of a fast roll (or partial roll).
