View Full Version : HPI shock and bladders

Why would my HPI stock shocks (on my Nitro MT Racer) not have
bladders? Is HPI trying to save a few cents or is there a good reason?

After finishing break-in the engine, I found the shocks where not full
of oil. Maybe like 20% of air. I could feel it when pressing the
suspension by hand. It made jump landing very hard. So I took a few
bladders from an old Tamiya kit and rebuild the shocks WITH bladders.
Now, after a few runs, the shocks dont loose oil anymore, there is no
air inside it and jump landings are way more graceful.

So why no bladders in HPI shocks? Or did I build the shocks wrong the
first time?

Thanks,

David
