Is a beltdrive system any good for an offroad 4wd electric buggy?

I was trying to decide between the HPI RS4 MT and HPI RS4 Rally when I
realized they both have the same beltdrive system. Any good?

I want to run an offroad track with a few jumps and bumps. Nothing
like serious racing though, just to have some fun.

Thanks,

David

All recent competitive 4WD buggies, with the exception of the Predator, use
some form of belt drive (and most have done since the days of the CAT XLS
and the Lazer ZX ;-)

So, yes!

Yes, but usually the belts for offroad are a little more "stretchy" than
belts for touring cars. Even then, you'll end up breaking them now and
then. Back in the 1980s 4wd buggies were usually chain drive... they were
noisy, and broke now and then too.

The Losi XX-4 (and the latest incarnation of it) are both belt drive. I
think the 1/8th scale buggies are belt drive too arent they?
