Hi folks,

I have a slowstick with astro 10 and etch 3s batt pack. A week or so ago I ordered 25in hollow floats from foamfloats.com so they should be here soon. In the meantime I am looking for suggestions for protecting the electronics. I already had to land in the water a week ok (without floats) and lost the esc and the batt got hot (but I got to it real quick). So I already know what will happen if I put her in the drink. What can I do to protech the esc/batt etc without adding too much weight?

Thanks and regards,
Fletch

Fletch,
See the thread below on waterproofing. I think you'll find what you need there.

We always encased the electrics in what they sell for "Safe Sex"! Have completly submerged the electrics with no damage! Used a small amount of slicone grease where the wires exit!

Showing off flying over the lake, I dunked my Lite Stik, no floats! Dried everything out and it all works, but think I will waterproof before I do that again. Have floats for the Stik just haven't put them on yet.

Went out on the lake this am-flew my Slow Stick for about 2 hours, what a blast-no trees, no wind, just mountains in back ground and a few pesty geese, thought they might try to follow but the red must turn them off.

I have been wrapping my electrics in saran wrap to keep out splashes with idea that nothing is waterproof, better to keep out incidental drops and let water run out if it gets dunked.

Otherwise I will be having to constantly check to see if water got in the sealed bag, could not evaporate and cause more damage. So far I seem to prefer this method for the ss, maybe on a full fuselage plane, something different. This way if it gets dunked you can just blow out the moisture. My nickels worth anyway. Flip
