plans service???

can anyone advise this newbie on a good plans service for large scale spit's and such like??
would also like any advice on techniques for building accurate scale planes.:confused:

You probably don't want to hear this but I'll have to say it. If you really are a newbie you don't want to get involved with large scale Spitfires at this stage. Everyone wants to fly a Spitfire but you need to be a competent pilot to do so. I've heard the "Well I can build this whilst I learn" argument but until the newbie does learn then he generally doesn't have much idea about what particular size Spitfire (or any scale model) he will aim or or how the various systems work.

That said, if you look at Brian Taylor's plans for several Marks of Spitfire in a variety of scales then that might give some ideas. Brian doesn't have a website but he can be contacted by snailmail or telephone : Brian Taylor, 26 Ashcroft, Chard, Somerset, TA20 2JH, UK

Try Nexus Publishing for your plans, they have an excellent range of scale and semi scale birds in several sizes! I have bought several plans from them now and the quality is excellent, fast delivery, I really recommend them!
