why pink?

um, good question... I wanted something as far away from Cun color as possible :p

and it matches the Swedish candy very well :)

Iīll ad some windows too it as well, and some more graphics.

forgot to mention that the maun undercarrage is from balsa/carbon laminate very very strong and light :-)

enjoy

Henket, I'm worried about you:D ! Actually, that's pretty cool, IMO. You sure won't lose it on the flight line. Nice job, I'm interested in your laminated CF/balsa UC, also. Could you elaborate? thanks, -thumbs

:D

I used a 3/4" balsa sheet, band sawed it in to 1/4" (6mm) wide and 100mm long strips. Glued them togeather to make a long strip with the fibre "standing" vertical.

I put the strip in a carbon fibre sleeve/sock approx 1.5" wide. When you pull the ends of the sock in closes, and fits nice around the strip in side.

to form the landinggear I made a styro plug, coverd it with Ultra cote. I wet the CF/balsa stick with epoxy, waited 5min to make is a bit softer, then just bunt it over the plug and hang a coca cola botthe in each end to keep it streched and tight. :)

itīs as easy as that!

pix in a bit :)

:D Okay, I was with you right up to the CF sock part, which I don't think I've seen before. I understand the Coca-Cola weights (will diet do?) and the plug also. Must be strong if it will support a 5 1/4lb. model! -thumbs

MS paint rules...

this creates a sandwhich landing gear, which is vert strong and light! I got a 4" piece left over... impossible to break with hand power :D

Woven braided CF sleeve! I had envisioned something else, but you've given me an inspiration to try this method. Think I'll place an order with "The Composites Store" for some socks. Thanks Henket, very much appreciated. -thumbs

and if itīs not strong enough just add another layer of Woven braided CF sleeve!

Henket,

Thanks for the picture and notes on the Cub...and the sox!

I flew a Goldberg Cub off floats for years, last Millenium :D

Not electric...used a SupreTigre 91 (!)

Yes...the Vert was acceptable. Hey - it was for the R/C Seaplane Contest, so I had to have suitable power. Wouldn't Hover, though.

Hehehe

Yeah some where last millemium there were fire, metal against metal... throught the smoke you could se TT FS91 in the nose of the Cub :D

flying around at pretty scale like 1700 Rpms with those 15cc engines lol

Henket, nice to see that you post in this forum. Where do you buy that CF-sock?
