I'm working on a project and need a special servo mixer. I don't know if a commercial version exists or not. Maybe someone can tell me where to get one or explain how it would be made.

The setup is two radio channels and two servos, the output on everything should be 1:1. When a movement signal (in either direction) is sent to one of the channels I need both servos to move in the same direction. When a signal is sent to the other channel I need the servos to move in the opposite direction.

Anyone know how to go about this?

Thanks,
Chad :)

If I've understood your description correctly it sounds like a V-tail/elevon mixer. Signal on elevator channel, both servos move the same way, signal on rudder/aileron channel both move opposite ways. There are plenty of commercial ones of those around.

If that's what you want and your transmitter doesn't allow it, I have one sitting in my junk box right now which you can have for the cost of the postage.

Something we used back in the olden days consisted of one servo mounted in a sliding rail (aileron) which was moved back and forth by a solidly mounted servo (elevator). The output of the sliding servo then was suitable for elevon use.
I hope my explanation was clear enough for you to understand.

I think this is what you're looking for:

It is essentially what Steve described.

Dubro sells a mechanical mixer.

No matter what kind of mixer you use, the channel that provides pitch will probably require much less throw than the channel that provides yaw. Often the channel rate can be controlled by the dual rate feature of the transmitter
