The question is, do you think you are ready? How well do you fly the DCH-2. If you are talking about the GWS Spit then you could probably fly it on a calm day with a little advice from a pilot experienced with ailerons, but only if you can fly the wings off your rudder elevator Beaver in a pretty gusty stiff breeze.
experience and reactions are whats important, the Spit is a pretty good flyer they say and I am putting one together right now to fly in my back yard.
Good Luck

The Spit is a good flyer, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it after a Beaver. Just keep the levator throws low, and make sure you use appropriate battereis to get the right punch out of it!

AirFreak,
I have flown the GWS spit. The first flight was a handful, however once I "tuned" down the throws and added a little weight in the nose it became much more stable. Mine still has an ugly stall, however I soon learned to recognize this and can avoid it now. I have heard mixed reviews on how this bird flys, they range from being a kitten to a tiger-by-the-tail. I am sure which way it flys is a direct result of the pilot. One thing that I can assure you of is that it will fly much different from your DeHavilland Beaver. Let me know how yours turned out.
Good luck.
