Possibly the simplest plane I've ever built. Fun little sucker to fly...perfect for a little combat :)

Looks cool! Will it handle at warp speed??

How do you land it?? don't you scratch the plane everytime you land?

The Gnat is simply a smaller version of the Spa3d concepts. I've only built one, and it's powered by a stock Mag .15 and flies great...but I can't comment or have experience with "warp speed" because I simply don't know. I've been belly landing combat planes for many years...and other than a little grass and dirt from time to time...no problems! Just make sure the prop is clocked to stop horizontal when you shut the engine down for landing.

Cool Tattoo! But will it 3d? I was wondering if I could scale down the Spa3d. Now I have inspiration.

Yes...it has the potential...but no...the Mag .15 doesn't have the power. It will Harrier great, but no flat spin without a rudder. It doesn't have the power to hover...and even if it could, it would need a rudder for control. It does awesome outside stuff, including a sweet waterfall.
With that said...it does have great potential...I think with a strong .15 like an RJL...and with micro radio gear (weight), and a rudder...you could make it an awesome little Gnat3D

Cool man. That looks like fun, what is the wing, 4mil? Think it would work with 2 or 3 mil? The way you turn out planes, your shop must work like Detroit!!!

Yes...it's 4mm coro, I also think it would work great with 3mm coro and 1/8" music wire (spar)...however, 2mm would be to thin. Actually... being a new home owner (since last fall)...I'm not building near as many planes as I used to...I've only built 7 planes so far this year. When I was living in an apartment I was averaging a plane a week! :D
