i have been fly r/c for the last twenty years and becuase of a faulty charger [e-flight] i was forced to pull out my old gentle lady ,wall charger,am radio, etc
i learned on this set-up,it was mealpieced together as a good beater-uper,well it still flies and very well in fact!
for those that have never flown one,its gotta be one of the sweetest planes for simple pure ,relaxing soaring with a sink rate thats hard to beat!
i strongly encourage anyone to fly one every once in a while just to get back to basics,,,its a great reminder that given the rite conditions the g/l can still win contests on a day when handling and sink rate are the order of the day.
i do on occation get frustrated with the expence of this hobby and find myself getting caught up in all the techno hype but i can always go back to the old rubber band highstart and gasbag, bentwing bird
one of the things that always amazes me is that its a kit thats hard to improve on other than strengthing the wing with c/f and building as light as you can
moral of the story;;;; some things never change, the air is still the same and the design is timeless,,always a great reminder that newer is not always better and the pure simple fun of a g/l is something that always reminds me why i loved this hobby in the first place
it you havent done it for a while, pull out the old g/l and highstart, its worthy
