After entering the world of float flying with my Minimax on antique floats I decided to take up foamfloats.com's free float offer and fitted their 19" hollow floats. (that's 4 "float"s in one sentence!)
This photo was taken after a very enjoyable afternoon at the local pond.

Bought some hollow floats for my MM Dandy Sport, still have not built the rear float mount (time), but they look great. Your setup looks perfect! What's the free float offer, did not see it on the web site.

Those floats looks great. You can also build light floats from balsa like those on my Aqua Sport. 3 formers with balsa tops, bottoms and sides. All covered with Oracover Lite.
The only trouble I had was wearing a hole in the bottoms near the step this winter. It seems there was a lot of ice under the snow. The holes let snow get injested into the floats. During one flight before I noticed the hole the plane was flying a bit weird. It was cold so I landed and took the plane home wondering what the problem had been. After dinner I went down to the shop and noticed water all over the table. You got it-the snow had melted and run out. No wonder the plane was flying a bit off-it had a bunch of snow packed into one of the floats!!
A quick patch of balsa and some new covering and everything was fine.

Pete,
I don't know if it's offered any more, but Foamfloats at one time offered a 100% rebate in return for a short article and photos of new installations for certain parkflyers.

Gary, OK, guess I'd better get busy with my Dandy float installation! Was mounting hardware tonite for a while and trying to figur out how to bend the wire fo the rear mount. Then I need to put a reinforcement plate of lite ply on the bottom of the fuse to hold the screws for the gear straps. Not a real simple job!
