I was given a partially build PuddleMaster and am in the process of collecting gear to finish it. Saw some long threads in the past and wonder if anyone is still flying one. Recommended motor prop combos would be appreciated. Looks like a nice stable plane and am going to do it up in some sort of RAF scheme.

Pete,
Here are a couple of threads that include power options of Puddlemaster/Pond Side and a lot more (including folks who have flown or are flying them). Did search for "Puddlemaster"
Dick:)

Thanks Dick! Will check those threads out. Gotta get busy with it as only the fuse and tailfeathers need covering plus electronics and motor. Hard to build when the weather is nice for flying!!

Pete:
I've still got mine from 1994. Astro Cobalt .05 with a 6 by 4 and 1800 mAh 7.2 volt 'sport' pack. Using a Futaba AM 'Attack' Rx with built in speed controller and BEC - that's a 'dirty' Tx that has to be flown with no other channels in operation.

Hi David! Thanks for the reply. Got to get a motor and get busy covering! I need a heavy WaterPlane! The Dandy Sport conversion was a failure, think the plane is just too light to take floats, water and wind! The 3.5 year old Wingo just flys and takes the water fine, just need to watch for wind gusts when taxing! Guaranteed tip over! Need a plane with a big flat wing that sits low in the water. The PS with water rudder should work, I hope!

I added some vertical fin to help the SoarStar track better on water in side winds. It is held on by elastics so that I can remove it for wheeled operations. It has minimized the flip overs.

Nice Dave! Was looking at your water rudder on another post, good job, might have to steal that idea from you when I do my SoarStar. Bought one about two years ago and never finished it, was to be a replacement for the Wingo which will not die after 3.5 years! Lives on floats in the mild weather and gets Skis in the winter.
Keep the right side up!!
