Welcome to the new Waterplanes forum.

This forum has been created for the discussion of waterplanes of all types, including seaplanes, floatplanes and amphibians and their construction and flying.

The forum will remain in this Special Interest area for 30 days from the date of this post, on a trial basis to gauge the popularity of the forum. If the forum achieves the criteria set out in the procedure for the creation of a new forum then it will be made permanent and will reside in the General Aircraft section, visible to both the fuel and electric sections of RC Groups.

So come on then chaps, get your feet wet and get posting :)

I bought a huge amphib (built) from a guy (with a 42 cc US engines - gas/oil mix) engine (another first). It ran great. I practiced with it on the water to try and get used to it. But... I don't know what the name of the model IS!! It has a coast guard cutter (white with USCG orange stripes). The engine is forward on an overhead pod (fuel tank in the pod behind the engine). The wing is in 2 pieces (tube), 4 channel radio. The wings have small pods/sponsons beneath the wing tips. It has a T tail with reinforced wire to hold it steady. The fuselage has a flat, smooth bottom. I added optional wheels. I floated it in the pool, practiced on the local lake (skull racing team floating dock)... but am scared to fly this huge sucker for some reason... -have many years of R/C and C/L experience. It seems to be a stable plane - don't know how much rudder it will require, but have to do same rudder and aileron 'roll' on water as a coordinated air turn, or outer wing sponson will catch and it will cartwheel on the water. Does anyone have an inkling what model this actually is? If not by words, I'll try a pic attachment.... how to I append a picture in this forum?
