Is anyone planning on going to this? I think it was originally scheduled for this weekend, but the date has been changed to next Saturday. I had planned on going to the Bluegrass E-Fly today, but work got in the way:( Hopefully I can make this one.

Hi Don,
I might go, the field is great, very smooth grass runway, even my Albatros parkflyer was able to take off from it. Will you bring your Waco? I can't bring mine anymore since it's become a little slimy (=;
Marcel.

Hi Marcel,
Not sure if I'll bring the Waco - it needs some minor repair (cabane, spur gear, prop) after a spectacular roll over on take-off. I'll probably bring my Sport-E, Somethin' Extra, and Lt-25, as I don't get a lot of opportunities to ROG from smooth grass. Hope you can make it.
Don
P.S. How does the Waco fly with a 4C? I bet it would do great with some Li-Polys to bring the weight down to IC range.

Don,
Sorry to hear about the Waco, get is back flying again. Mine is a different plane, with the lower weight the plane is much easier flying. I am using an older OS 40 FS which produces similar or maybe even a little less power than the Mega 22/30/3, it swings a 12x4 at about 9500rpm. But because of lower plane I see no more tip stalls and it flies much slower. I do like the put put put sound too, just not the grease.:( I put the smaller wheels and wheel pants on, lools very cool.

Not sure that the problem with mine is a tip stall, but it does want to roll left right after rotation, even with a nice long run. I'll definitely fix it, just that I am spending my (currently) small amount of free time flying well-behaved sport planes rather than messing with finicky bipes ;)

Hi Don,
I won't be able to go, I will have time to go fly Sat. morning at the VOA. Last Sat. I went and the cricket team was also playing. Le Phan was also there and he flew his F16, it flies really nice, good roll rate and nice big loops. Much better that is old F16.
Marcel.

Sorry to hear you can't make it, Marcel. I haven't yet decided if I want to devote a whole day up there myself. Where is everyone flying when the cricket game is going on? Are they moving downfield, and is there enough parking. I've missed the last three Saturdays due to vacation and work.

Hi Don,
Yep, we flew, we just drove down the field a little. The cricket team uses a circular field, but it's not that big.

Is this for club members only to fly? I am in the area but not a club member. While it would be great to come out and watch... it would be even better if I could bring a plane or two...

Hi Neil,
The field has been provided to us by the West Chester Parks Dept. to fly electric and non-powered planes. We share the field with the cricket players noted above, but otherwise the field is generally not used (no soccer,etc.). You are welcome to come and spectate or fly any time. Membership in the VOA Flyers club is strickly optional and is completely up to you - either way please come out and see us on Saturday mornings!
Regards,
Don
