I have a BL installation that seems to be very noisey and moving the gear about does not help............If I start wrapping the RX and leads in ali foil does the screening need to be connected to 0V?
I think that the underlying problem is a very long ESC to motor run?

If I start wrapping the RX and leads in ali foil does the screening need to be connected to 0V?An effective electrostatic shield will use "RF ground" as the common connection. For simplicity, just use a VERY short braid to connect the shield to the closest beefy ground connection on the Rx's PCB.
Before you go this route you should try different antenna placements (keep it away from the ESC and all wiring). If antenna position changes do not help at all, then the Faraday shielding idea does not sound very promising in your situation.
I am not big on the foil wrap solutions. But other eZoners have mentioned it has helped them, so it seems to have value.

Thanks guys..........I flew the maiden today:)
Maybe the ali foil helped? but I was still slightly troubled with glitching as expected.
The torroids look interesting! That will be the next thing to try!

the torroids are what the glider guiders use on their aileron extension leads (some longer than parkflyers wingspan) and such to control noise.
