poof.... anyone else try the emaxx 14 cell (16.8 vDC) setup?
i rebuilt five, 6-cell 3000 NiMh stock packs into the 7-cell design on the
website, used nice new gold bars and some wet noodle wire. Dans new speed
jig was great!
anyway, ran two packs about twice. damn fast and about 25 minutes run-time.
after a nice, peaked recharge on the same pack (only pair ever used) the esc
just stopped putting out current - never responded when throttled, LED
worked.
A charged pack on one input powers up the steering serve and esc LED, but no
go. A charged pack on the other side has no effect. anyway, i really blew it
up when i took the cover off and poked around lookin for a burnt trace or
cracked FET or something.
so --- any suggestions on a replacement to handle 14 cells, or more?

For info:
http://www.mtroniks.net/whatsnew.htm
For ordering in the US:
http://www.hobbypeople.net/gallery/159152.asp
adds waterproofing and lighting capabilities...
These guys also have a waterproof reciever in the UK, and when I asked- they
said US frequencies are coming.
I have a lower-end ESC from them, the Sport RV15- I like it just fine.

Excuse me, my brain just farted...
....you were interested in 14 cell and I was thinking 14.4v!
I'd try the double Rooster setup that Novak originally offered as a upgrade
from the original, problematic, Traxxas ESC's.

I've done it before with 7cells with no poof.

Yep, the ESC is toasted, but I'm not sure we can blame it completely on teh
7cells. Might want to get a quote from Traxxas on fixing/replacing. The
normal cost on that kind of thing outside warranty $20-45. Cheaper than
buying a new speed control, assuming it holds up.

Were you using the stock Titan motors?
I think you can only use 14 cells on the stock motors, not Mod motors.
