Ok, guys, it's only 2 months away. Who will be going and what are you going to fly? Who will be coming from the longest distance? And for those have been before, how many years have you been going?
At least 5-6 of us will be coming from Corpus Christi. Usually more than that. This will be my 6th or 7th year.

well, I have been going for about 4 years, but only to watch. Even though I live in Houston, I never flew. Always thought it was to crowded. My buddy convinced me to fly this year with him. So this year will be the first one I will actually fly something. Now I am actually looking forward to it, and can't hardly wait. :D I will fly my Mentor, and probably a Ziroli Stuka I will buy Friday at Bomber from Evan Quiros from Laredo. It's the one he has had there the past 2 years with those big cannons on the wing. Done in a winter camo scheme from the russian front.

What will you and your buddies fly ?

Here is the Mentor :

I'm going to try to get there and do an event report for our new magazine. I'll be in an RC Groups shirt and hat, we'll all have to get together and meet face to face at the field.

I'll know more in a few weeks about whether not I'll be there.

Thanks,

Jason

Ulf,
You will have a great time.
I had considered buying the Stuka from Evan a couple of months ago, but at the time my budget would not quite stretch far enough. It is a beutiful plane and one of the koolest Stukas I have seen. It flys good too.

I still plan on coming. I probably won't know for sure until a few weeks before though. I'll probably bring my 1/6 scale PT-19, and maybe a few small electric warbirds. I also have a 6 ounce EDF F-16 that is a hoot if the winds are calm.

Jason,
The fall meet is a a Big Bird event, for IMAA sized (80" w/s, or 60"ws bipes, or 1/4 + scale) planes. The spring Warbird is for all sizes.

Hey Ulf,
I will be there. I am thinking of bringing my Mini Gee Bee. You bringing yours? They ought to be a big hit at Bomber Field (lol). I will probably throw in some other electrics for the late afternoon flying. See ya' there.

I am too far away too, in Florida. Maybe if I ever retire I can do the RV thing and travel all the events like a nomad. Have fun guys.
Good Luck

Great to see you here Evan. It's the place to be :D .
I can't hardly wait to take over the beautiful Stuka, and sure want to see that PCM ME-109 soar the skies over Bomber. Have you flown it yhet ? Unfortunately work will keep me from flying Friday :( but I sure will be there flying Saturday and Sunday. Will make it out there Thursday afternoon to take a look around and hopefully can sneak by on Friday afternoon even if I do not fly that day.

How about you Jason, will you be going ?

Perhaps in the future, This will be flying, have a saito 1.70r3 for it.
IT is a really big P47 kit I bought used, have some nice retracts for it that were machined out of billet aluminum.

That is just my little saito .30 next to it for a size comparison, the cowl fits over my head like a darth vader helmet, and my hat size 7 7/8ths!

To be honest with you, I forgot who makes it, best I can tell, its from a Mom and Pops outfit, semi retired I guess. The kit came with a metal finish, that they sell. the retracts they also make, big machined aluminum things.

Yep, that's an Innovative kit all right. Good Luck with it. People either really hate them or really like them. I had their P-40 kit and decided someone else needed it more than I did. (lol)

If you have any question about building, I can help you as I have built one of these. It was my very first giant scale kit and my 3rd plane I have built, this it was about 9 years ago. You can get more help here than what you can get from the manual.

I have not found anyone who really like them..... LOL

Anyways, it flew great and once it was in the air it doesn't matter.
