My daughter gave me a Magnum 1.08 for my 70th birthday. Nice, huh? Anyhoo, I've run four 16 oz. tanks of castor oil loaded fuel through it and it runs great except I just can't get it to idle slow enough. What I mean is, to keep it running at idle, it's like a third throttle. I would never be able to land it. Any help.

VOR: You gave me a clue when you said "castor loaded" fuel. Larger displacement glow engines will not break in with even using the standard out-of-the-bottle fuel.
I always mixed my own or added some methanol to bring the oil content down closer to 10%. Perhaps you should try running it at about 12% and watch the temps. You should be able to touch the crankcase any time the engine is running at full power.
Adding a litre of methanol to a jug of 20% oil fuel does the job.
