Hi

Can anyone tell me if it OK to use 35MHz tramsmitter for Boats in the UK. I
want to also fly planes and only want to buy one tranie.

Regards

NO 35mhz is legally aircraft use only, 40mhz is ground based only i e cars
boats, 27mhz is both and I personally would not fly a large plane on 27mhz,
you could change the transmitter with a changeable module to convert between
35mhz and 40mhz these are £70 for futaba the price of a 4 channel
transmitter go with 35mhz for air and 27mhz for the boat a 2 channel tranny
on 27mhz is only £8

Hi,

This is something that I have not thought about before. I am currently
working on a boat and using old RC plane gear for the motor and controllers.
Will I have the same problem with frequencies here is Australia?

Thanks,

D.

Actually you will probably not have much problem at all using aircraft frequencies in boats,...HOWEVER,

If anyone is flying an airplane near by, you will
cause it to crash. That person will have a bad day. :(

That is the main reason you should stay on the
legal frequencies separating Air and Ground.

NO don't do it!!
Either 40mhz or 27mhz for "surface" models.

Thanks for the reply. I might just have a look for some new freq chips.

Don't think it will be a problem because it is a small lake in the middle of
a park with many trees - and I have never seen a plane there but I might
take it a bit more careful.

Thanks again,

D.

Please do not use illegal frequencies for your boat an out of control plane
or helicopter can and have killed people in the past

Thanks Kevin,

Had not thought of that - will definitely get new frequency chips.

You cannot just change the frequency band by changing crystals you will need
a new module for the transmitter and a new receiver its cheaper to by two
different sets 1 for land based 1 for airborne, I had the same problem now I
have 2 airborne tx's 4 air rx's 3 land tx's 5 land rx's, problem solved I
dont have any aircraft near me when I use my boats and cars at least I dont
think so but I dont need to worry as I dont use 35mhz for my cars and boats
