I have a soldering job that calls for 700 degrees,,my iron is rated at 30 amps,,,how many degrees would that be ??? Lee

It sounds like you are trying to silver solder or braze something. I think for 700 degrees you may have to use a torch with MAPP gas rather than a soldering iron.

Unless your 30W iron has temperature control, it will be as hot as it wants to be. Temperature will vary all over the map as you solder.
I use a Weller soldering station that has a magnetically controlled tip. The tip is marked with its factory determined temperature. There are other temp controlled systems out there too.

I guess you mean 700 degrees F, so only about 380C. My temp controlled iron will go up that far but there's no easy way to tell how hot an uncontrolled 30W iron will get.
But unless it's something very small that you're trying to heat to that temperature a 30W iron probably won't hold that heat even if it gets anywhere near.
About all you can do is try it and see.
