Has anybody built the Aero-naut tug 'Torben' that would be willing to pass
on any tips to m?
I have never built a model kit before and was told by the model shop this
one was easy. (now in front of me it doesn't look that easy) Reg.

Sorry about the delay, Reg.
Nope - I've never built the Torben. That's quite an impressive model.
Tugs, in general, 'want' the same things. The pictures I saw on the Web
don't detail the props or rudders - that's about the only place they differ,
especially in modern tugs. Where are you located? Great Britain has MANY
hobby shops that cater to boaters. USA people do better on the Web, in
general.
There's a book that's commonly available on Ebay. It's called 'Large Scale
Tugboat Models' or something similar. It's not the best book, honestly.
It's more of a review of several kits on the market than it is a
construction guide. BUT it has lots of photos, and tugs are tugs.
Good luck and post questions!!! Email me at stagisfamily@comcast.net or
stagis@fansteelvrwesson.com with questions.
The guy who posted earlier (Towboat Joe) is a 'name' in boat modeling - if
he answers, his answers are good. Also, look up Old River Bill's site
http://oldriverbillzumwalt.members.ktis.net/ . While it centers around
towboats, it's a great site - the more you dig, the more you find.
