My grandson has an Associated off-road buggy which uses a Futaba S3003 servo for steering. He has stripped the gears in two different servos. Is there any better replacement solutions?
Is there a metal gear set that will fit the S3003 case? Should I scrap the S3003 in favor of another servo that has the same dimensions..if 'yes' what servo? If I go with stock replacement gears what is the best source?

Thanks in advance for your help....been in R/C aircraft for 40+ years and have never lost a gear.

hey if only a few gears are missing like on too of ours just take it off the control horn and adjust the trim way over to the other side that's not stripped and it'll be good as new.

The shaft that the control arm connects to is ok. The stripped gear is internal to the servo. It is a white nylon gear about the size of a dime. A second smaller gear is molded to the top of the gear with about 10 teeth. About three of these teeth have been sheared off on both the damaged servos. Thanks for your comments.
