Well, I purchased a GV-1 form my Concept 30 SRX ($125 NIB from eBay) and am
trying to mount it. However, it is being difficult. Since the fan is not
butted to the engine, I cannot use the mounts that came with it. Instead, I
am fabricating a mount to the frame, but that is leaving a lot to be desired
since I have to mount the sensor sideways (is that bad??) and slightly
angled to clear the clutch bell. My questions are:
1) Is it OK to mount the sensor sideways? When I rotate the engine, the
reading does increase, but with this mounting position, I can only get to
69%.
2) Have any of you fitted a C30 with a GV-1? How did you do it?

Thanks!

Why? (Assuming your a Brit), The ebay cost is c£80, another 13 quid for
shipping and your up at the UK list price. I'll loose 10% at my local model
shop. Amazing but true...buying in the UK is cheaper than Ebay!

Mm, even Cyberheli is showing $130. Add shipping and the tiny but possible
chance of Fuhrer Tax and again its about the same over here. Odd that.

I am in the states, and every LHS has it for $169US, and I could not find it
on CyberHeli's site (I finally found it with a search of GV1 instead of
GV-1). At any rate, I still saved about $5 from eBay than CyberHeli, and the
item was brand new and had it in 2 days. But regardless, it is a real PITA
to installl on a C30! I need to pick up some longer screws today and
hopefully finish the mounting this evening. I will take some pictures of the
installation and post in the binaries group this weekend.

If memory serves David, it's alt.binaries.radio-control or something VERY
similar. In fact it IS, (I just checked:-)
