View Full Version : How to remove carbon deposits?

I have (had!) a one piece Weston pipe on my Concept VR which gave good
service until recently due to increasing back pressure caused by the
internals coking up.

I use a semi-synthetic fuel containing 9% castor (I know, use fully
synthetic and this will never happen) and have variously tried oven cleaners
and blow torching the pipe in Redex petrol additive without much success in
removing the carbon.

Has anyone ever succeeded in recovering a coked up pipe?

Suggestions welcome....

That's okay
Every time my wife uses the pot that I used for my engines/mufflers, I tell
her that I am not hungry...and just watch the family eat with a grin on my
face.
