These had potential. A Windows based FS.
It seemed very fun at ridge soaring & Choice of planes was good. I'd still have it if the transmitter interface was better. Again, I tried the 2 joysticks as a transmitter & it worked if I used the joystick driver that came with FS2001 (how weird).
Terrible support & long term waits waiting for bug fixes.
Backyard Edition was supposed to come out with an all inclusive XP version (for about the last year) but still hasn't. I'm also gussing these are dead products from a support/upgrade viewpoint.
To be fair, since this is only software, they should either sell a USB transmitter (perferred) or sell a transmitter interface they fully support.

Sir,
XP versions of BE and CM (V. 1.8) were released January this year and are
available from our website.
Since 1/2003 we offer a com-port interface.
Software and interfaces are available from NorthEast Sailplanes
www.nesail.com
and Hobby-Lobby.

Andre, what happened to the plane designer software you mentioned a year ago? No new planes in over a year!! You have the best electric flite sim with all the power plant and prop changes available, how about a way for us to design new planes and scenery?? I'd buy it...

I just went to http://www.cockpitmaster.com/updates.html & from the webpage...
1. Version 1.0 is no longer supported.
Upgrade patches for 1.0 are no longer available since 1/1/2003.
The current CD and Download Version is 1.8xl. (I don't understand this statement. Is 1.8xl only Backyard edition or both??)
2. Your Website only offers an update to BE 1.7, but that's an older patch.
Thanks,
Jim Klein

Great Product CRAP SERVICE!!! I Have Been Waiting For A MONTH For Support And That Is With A Reminder A Week. They Gave Me A Free Copy Of Regular CP Two Weeks Ago, But They Will Not Help My Interface Issues! I Offred All The Info They Could Possibly Need, And NOTHING! I Hate It Too because I Really Enjoyed The Sim While It Worked On My Old System.

Support is lacking and there is no Customer Service!
Purchase Backyard Edition and am having interface issues. Support kept saying it works for them.
Got one of the developers involved and verified a problem in software. It has been a month and support will not respond or acknowledge my email messages.
Looks like a nice sim - but dosn't work for me. And they are not intersted in getting it working or working with me.
I do not reccomend purchasing it.

I was really excited about using this sim, but after trying to get the sim to work on two different computers with two different interfaces, I gave up (for now anyway).

I tried the same thing on 2 different computers with no luck.
Support actually told me it works for them :(
One of the Software developers ended up sending msg confirming a problem.
All in All their support was lacking and I did not receive any SERVICE - but they do have my MONEY!

I've got Cockpit Master and BE running on three computers on Win 98 SE. No problems! Using Joystick (USB), wingman RumblePad (usb) and a Dave Brown Control box (dummy xmiter) as joystick input. All work fine, however have not heard of too many users having luck with transmiter interfaces working. Too bad. Wonder if a Real Flight USB box will work with it, should if it is like a joystick. A great Sim, now if we could have flaps, retracts and a plane designer......

Sent a Personal Message to machineworks and recieved a response from Support, actually two email messages. Thank You.
One apologizes saying the problems is already fixed :(
The other made me feel like we had some kind of agreement that made it OK to be ignored and I can have my money back if I want it.
I requested the MONEY. I expect better treatment.
