Fantastic. A new forum where we can all argue about which is the best sim :) and never ever agree.

I had to buy a Great Plains Realflight sim because my old simulator would not work with my new computer useing WinXP. Best? I don't know, but it certainly serves the purpose for our familey. My favorite right now is Chip Hyde's bipe. Kinda fun getting in the cockpit and zooming around the field after practicing. My daughter is doing great on it. LeRoy

It never occured to me this might be a non rc simulator thread. If so, I should remove my post. I will wait and see. Plenty of room for all. LeRoy

Davew,
You're right, we will never agree on the best sim. For one thing, we can't all try ALL of them. I have one and don't expect to try others unless I find out mine is no good or defective. So far, I'm happy (DAVE BROWN'S RCFS). I would like more planes to try, like seaplanes and multi-engine planes and would also like to be able to put in my own. Right now, can't.
Anyhow, this forum should be about helping each of us get the most out of the simulators we have and also help those who have yet to buy a simulator decide which might be the best for them.

Well I think it's safe to say that FMS is the best FREE flight sim. :D

Not perfect but not bad for the price.

p.s. yes I know about PRE Flight, but I can't get it to work on my computer even after spending days trying. Impossible to use is a major tie-breaker for me.

Can we include non rc sims like Mosquito Squadron or even CFS?
After all we can sit ouside the plane(a little bit behind-a little bit above)

BC,

I couldn't get PRE Flight to work either, so IMO it doesn't qualify as best.

I tried G2 but didn't like to purchase all the extra planes, so the Free FMS gets my vote.

My favorite plane for FMS is the Arup S2.

Try Billy Hell's RealFlight G2 planes, on www.profilebrotherhood.com

They are free, and fly sweet...

The UltimateBillyHell bird is the best. It hovers like the real thing and flat spins!

But it gets my vote by default, as it is the only one I have found that will run under linux

I couldn't get the profile brotherhood link to work. Any chance of getting the UltimateBillyHell bird for fms?

DON'T open that .exe file before you run a virus checker on it. It may be OK but you need to be sure. Sorry, Amerigeva, but in these days of bad guys destroying hard drives with exe files, it's best to exercise caution - especially since you are a new member.

Take whatever precautions you need.
It reminds me of trying to get a credit card without credit history...
