My JR transmitter just got very, very sick yesterday.:( I won't be able to go without a flying fix for very long. Getting another JR to tide me over would not be inexpensive as I need delta mixing at a minimum and would like to have dual rates also.

Searching the web brings up the Multiplex brand and their Cockpit MM radios. Not less expensive than the JR's but they have the required bells and whistles plus user changeable transmitter crystals. While, in the past, I didn't have many problems with multiple users on my one channel, lately a couple other flyers have shown up on that channel. I have limited times to fly and would like to get flight time. I can feel the clock ticking as we're taking turns. Yes, we do share.

Are the Multiplex radios available at the dealers now? I know Hitec recently bought them. Is there I gotcha's that I overlooked in their spec's or performance? I searched the e-zone and it looks like the sail plane people like what they have. Some sailplane features I'll never understand.

I can feel the shakes coming on! Maybe just a few hand throws without power.:D

Moved to Hitec forum where you should get an answer straight from the horse's mouth.

I realized Hitec had a form after I posted this. But then real people sometimes give an informed answer of what is happening to them. While representing the company, I've had to bite my to tongue a number of times particularly when it was about business.

Hitec/Multiplex USA is still waiting for radios systems to arrive from Germany. They are on order but we do not have a specific arrival date at this time. Unfortunatley the info on the user changable transmitter crystals in incorrect. Multiplex transmitter crystals will be a service item only and will not be available to the consumer.

You might want to look at the Hitec Eclipse w/Spectra, it is in a similar catagory and price range. http://www.hitecrcd.com/Radios/eclipse.htm

The Cockpit does not have user defined mixers. You are ok as long as you only want to use the built in ones like delta or vtail, but you can't make your own, like knife edge mixers.

If the frequency synthesiser that we have in Europe will be available on 72Mhz, why not look at the Royal Evo, then you will never need another crystal and get a radio that is better than the Futaba 9C.
