View Full Version : online shop outperforms local hobby shop

I have had it with prices in european local hobby shops.
Cyberheli deliverd me a futaba 9c in a european freq band, at about 55% of
the local price (including paying the import taxes and shipping), in about
half the time the LHS indicates as lead time (including customs handling).
Cyber even includes the correct charger for euro 220V~ mains.
LHS shop can only supply the robbe/futaba and that one comes as kit only
with servo's but without batt. packs.
Next time I crash I might buy spares online as well.

As sad as it is, this is what I found too. The local hobby shop just
couldn't compete with the service/pricing of the online stores I was dealing
with. I tried to do the right thing.....I would approach the local shop and
tell them what I could get the gear for if I bought online. I was prepared
to buy from the local shop if they could match it, or come close enough to
it, but they couldn't/wouldn't.

Old debate, sad but true.
I used to say this way back and was lambasted for not supporting LHS. It's
your money you get to decide where you spend it.
