What happened to my pixie 7?

I plugged in my old pixie 7, (not 7p), checked control movements and advanced the throttle, and was suprised when the motor went wide open, taking off with me having no throttle control at all. :confused:

I flew around for a while trying to run the batts down some before I was forced to crash land it just to get the plane back.

The prop saver held on on "landing" unfortunately, stalling the motor and burning up the esc.

I am mailing it in for repair, but I'm curious, what happened here?

We may be able to tell by just looking at it, or with some simple diagnostics - you'll get a report of either items replaced, or a full unit replacement back with your controller.

It sounds like you had a direct short that made a physical connection between the batts and motor directly.
