I posted recently saying that I was considering buying a second hand
hoverfly and if there were any particular points to consider.
There followed a series of pro and anti postings and a lot about the Hirobo
XRB as an alternative.
Here is some feedback for those interested:
I bought a Hoverfly on eBay for 93GBP
It's the lastest model Hoverfly II TXI and in excellent condition
I think its brilliant and see it being a great training aid.
I already have a 30 Size Heli and the G2 simulator. The reason I wanted a
Hoverfly is that whilst G2 is great I don't really get a 3D feel from it.
Work, family and weather mean that I only get to learn on my 30 once a week
at best so I wanted something I could try at home aswell.
In answer to doubts about Snelflight's support - well I haven't had to try
them but did email a question and got a pretty instant and helpful response.
I couldn't comment on the Hirobo XRB. It looks nice and I'm sure it's very
good but at the Hoverfly's price, there really was no competition for me.
Cheers,
Nigel
