View Full Version : Flash 5 Flaperon Elevator Mix??

I have a 9 month old Flash 5 with a 555 and Electon 6.

I'm planning to buy an full house (aileron, rudder, elevator, throttle) aerobatic electric park flyer (Mini Flash, Tantrum, Cobra, etc.) that uses one servo for each aileron to allow flaperons.

Does the Flash 5 allow me to mix elevator and flaperons on a power plane? It seems like I can only do this in glider mode, which would transfer my throttle to one of the switches (I would not want to do this.

If I can do this....how???

One more question, would the amount of servo travel on 100% servo travel with 70% dual rate be the same as 70% servo travel with 100% dual rate.

Thanks, Doug

Is this the SX ?

If so, you can mix in elevator.
(you lost me on that last question)

Yes, in the GLID/ACRO mode.

I have a Flash 5X and want flap/elev mixing for my electric acro plane but want to keep the throttle stick and don't want it as pre-select positions on sw#3, which programming sequence do I follow? glid/acro? then what?

I've heard that the flash 5x is not that great... I heard it glitches and freezes. I want to get the radios but these "rumers" are the only things holding me back. Is it true?

I've been using mine for 2 flying seasons and no problems, plus I bought it used.

Bought my first 5X new two seasons ago and my second one used last season.
Never had a fault with ether.

Do a search on flash 5 and read the threads, I think you will find almost everyone that has one likes it and recommends it . It's a very popular low priced computer radio and seems to be one of the best values in its class. I've certainly had no problems with mine.

I've heard of the Feather receiver doing this, but never the 5X transmitter.
