I have launched one for a friend a few times using a winch. Just hold the model at about a 10 degree nose up angle with the wings level, allow the tension in the winch line to build up until it is about to be torn from you hands, then give it a good hard toss forward. The model just climbs straight up the line from the launch. No problem!

Guys,
I'm not even going to pretend I know what a "Eliminator 134" sailplane is, but I have a comment on Bungee launching(Hi-start to us in the Colonies!) :D

I have a Harley Michaelis designed "Genie" which is a whopping 145" span, six servo "full house" machine, which I use a Hi-start to launch all the time.
I think the proper size rubber(or bungee) is the key to good launches with these big birds, and I get very good launch height with my set-up.
Just thought I would throw my experience in the conversation!

So what IS a Eliminator 134 anyway??
