I like its looks. Does it fly well or is it a dog ? I'm not looking for contest performance.
Thanks

There's a Dynaflite Bird of Time kit which has been around for a long time, and there's a current thread about it here (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=98782).
There's also a new Dynaflite Bird of Time ARF with a fiberglass fuselage, and there's a current thread about it here (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=126899).
So whichever plane you mean, there's no need to start a new thread about it.

Something not covered in that other kit thread is the kit quality.
I had a Dynaflite kit a few years back and was VERY dissapointed in the wood and die cutting quality. I basically had to replace almost all of the wood as it was totally unsuitable for model building. Even the spruce spar stock had extreme grain runout and would shatter with minimal test flexing and pulling.
They may be better these days as this was going back 10 years. Perhaps others can update these findings.
But the design itself is a lovely flier. If you can build it you won't be dissappointed.

I have an ARF Bird of Time on order now and I'm hoping the quality will be better.

I built one about 3 years ago and the quality wasn't bad...Not the best, but nowhere near the worst. It is a builder's kit though, so if you don't like building you might want to look at the ARF.

Built the Bird of Time ARF in 2 evenings and flew it yesterday in 15 mph winds. The 6 ribs I could see had been laser cut and everything fit like a glove. No complaints at all. Definitely not an F3B ship but a great floater and only $150 at Tower. Hard to beat that price since the only thing needed to complete the kit is epoxy. Even comes with molded lead in the nose and a bag of lead shot for extra ballast. Mine balanced perfectly without adding any weight.
