I have a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy sound card and a Altec Lansing
Speaker system ( two front, two surround and one subwoofer) When the
computer boots up the speakers snap and crackle as if they were bad (i,e.
blown out speakers) However when I play mp3s the speakers SOUND GREAT !

Any suggestions???

Actually,
It is quite common for systems of all kinds to emit strange sounds as they
*start-up*.
I would suggest hooking up some different speaks' to your system, and see if
you get the same results. However the new speakers may be more sensitive to
feedback and other electronic "noise".
My suggestion?
Since the new speakers seem to perform to your satisfaction once things are
"running"...
From now on...
When you turn the system on,
turn the volume down to absolute minimum util the system is functional... then
crank it up, and enjoy.

Hey guys,

I merely changed the "Advanced Properties" of the "Speaker" icon that rests
on the task bar and that fixed the problem.

Sorry, Kenji, I don't smoke weed because it really screws up the mind

Try a fuel with a higher nitro content and change the glow plug.
Also, make sure that the HSN is not set too lean.
