Can someone please tell there is a way to program an Eclipse 7 for full trailing edge camber...both flaps and both ailerons. I can't believe this is that hard to do. I mean isn't this a very basic requirement for a six servo Sailplane? For good high launches? Thanks, Tony

I've actually heard that this is a limitation of the Eclipse. It won't do full trailing edge cambering..at least not with one switch.

It was covered on page 5 of the above thread, FWIW.

"BD6- Unfortunatley, only the flaps link to the ST-1 and ST-2 switches. "
Yep. You can do it with the knob, but you can't do it for a launch/camber or reflex setting on a switch.

Well, this is very ...hard to believe. Major R/C Radio manufacturer designs and produces a radio, 7 channel no less Acro/Heli/Glider , that has no capability for trailing-edge camber/speed-reflex on gliders? Pehaps I assumed far too much. I've always been VERY happy with Hitec products. This function just seems so essential for sailplanes, how did it get missed? And how come there isn't a program upgrade to solve this fundamental oversight (by now)? I dunno I'm not too bright sometimes, have I missed something that would explain this?

I had heard something about a program update for the Eclipse, but am not sure if it included launch/reflex settings. Might want to ask about it in that same thread.

I have an Eclipse 7 that had the PCM modification done to it. I can both reflex and camber my full trailing edge. The instructions in the book must be followed carefully. Flt control switches must be in the proper position when you set it up and attention must be paid to the setting number being positive or negative.
Several members in my club say that they can't get theirs' to camber. The ailerons go down to neutral then start back up like crow. Theirs are Prizim 7 and Eclipse 7 with out the PCM modification. They did do a software upgrade when they did the modification.

Thanks for the info. Yes, programming mine it wants to do the "crow" thing too. I tried various master/slave combination set-ups to try to get it to work for full trailing-edge camber. Not happening.:(
I moved my inquiry over to the Hitec forum. Response from them was, "yes, oops, major oversight on our part." I guess I'll have to get a JR radio cuz ALL my equipment is Hitec. That's 4 radio's 7 receivers and 45+ servo's. I'm still miffed about it tho'. One would think that they would be a little more motivated to correct such a blunder. I'll stop whining now:rolleyes:

If your recievers are all negative shift, the Futaba 9CAP is a good transmitter. The guys around here that have 'em love 'em :)

SpiritQuest,
Your frustration is exactly why I bought the 9C, which I am VERY happy with.

Get the Futaba 9c and you can put your launch preset on a three position swtitch and and add a speed setting with reflex. Man I love this radio. Its easy to progran and model memory is unlimited with campacs. If you dont need a spectra module, you can o wrong with the 9c
