I've just purchased a Highlight 2m (called Enigma 2m in the US) for £119 from SoarHigh Sailplanes in Scotland. The model looks absolutely excellent, but there is one problem - no instructions whatsoever!
If anyone can give me the recommended centre of gravity position I would be very grateful. It would be wonderful to see some instructions too!
Thanks in advance,
Neil.

hi Neil,
email Airtech(www.airtech-rc.com),i believe Soarhigh buys its Highlights from Airtech (you got a very good price,West London Models sells the 2m for £180).
i have a Highlight 1.8m so i cannot help you.
try 33% of the chord anyway.
this is usually a good start

I looked at the Airtech-rc web site and they don't actually mention a 2m version, but I will email them anyway.
I think 33% may be too far forwards as the wing tips sweep back a bit, and the tail moment is REALLY long.

If you make the nose weight adjustable in small incremenrts and the elevator throw generous, you don't have to have a recommended CG to start flying. Just make sure the first flight is nose heavy so that the plane is controllable ie, the CG is not so far aft that the plane is unstable and uncontrollable. From there is is just a matter of flight testing and adjustment of CG, elevator neutral and elevator throw to get the plane handling the way you want it to.

Enigma 2M instructions list 3.25" from the leading
edge and towhook 3.125" from the leading edge as a starting point. hope this helps.

Now that you have had it a while, how does it fly?

I still haven't built it. It sems a bit too heavy for the purely thermal duration task I bought it for.

Sal is having a sale on the Enigma 2M. It is marked down from 340 to 219. Is this a good deal for a weekend flyer?

Greetings,
Ya, seems like a great deal at $219, very tempting. Even though I had thought I would not deal with NSP again .
Neil, how much does your kit weigh with all the hardware included, and what do you think it will acually come out at RTF?
Thanks,
Jared

My electric kit weighed about 22oz out of the box. The glider fuse & nosecone would add another couple of ounces. I estimated my AUW with 7 subC cells would be at least 50oz - I think the only other electric one I've seen weighs about 56oz-60oz, again with 7 cells.

Greetings,
Thanks Neil. Does seem high for an electric version, although the glider version is about right. Nice to know it come in at what is listed.
